Mr. Rooney has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Brown & Brown of Texas, Inc., since 2002. His career encompasses more than 25 years insurance industry and financial services experience. He has held a variety of leadership positions with several large insurance brokers and independent agencies. His resume includes having served as Regional Controller, Senior Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for both Willis Corroon and Frank B. Hall, earlier predecessors of national brokers, Willis and AON. More recently Mr. Rooney was Chief Financial Officer of Texas Insurance Agency and held an equity stake in a managing general agency before joining our company.

A 1976 graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Mr. Rooney earned his Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Illinois State University in 1977. He holds professional designations as an Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Associate in Reinsurance. Mr. Rooney is a licensed Property / Casualty, Group Employee Benefits, Life / Health and Managing General Agent.
