Mark J. Packwood Sales Executive A Houston, Texas native, Mr. Packwood has over 14 years of experience in the heavy labor and transportation industries. He enjoyed a successful career in the janitorial service industry and also gained extensive experience in the transportation industry while working for Waste Management, Inc. He was Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Houston, Texas based Professional Janitorial Services, Inc. for six years before forming his own company, Advantage Commercial Services, Inc., where he served as President, and which he subsequently sold in 2006. He joined Brown & Brown in 2007 as a Sales Executive.
No stranger to the insurance industry, Mr. Packwood previously led the sales and marketing functions of Risk Control Services, Inc., a risk management consulting firm specializing in reducing the Workers' Compensation insurance costs of large, labor-intensive employers. During his tenure there, he helped increase company revenues by over 300% by establishing money saving product and service offerings for the company’s clients which included the use of high deductibles, off shore captives, and guaranteed cost programs. Mr. Packwood has addressed regional and national industry trade associations as an expert on matters of effective safety and loss control procedures, insurance management, and OSHA compliance in numerous public speaking forums, all geared to companies with large labor forces. Mr. Packwood graduated from Texas A&M University in 1991 with a Bachelor’s in Economics and is an active donor and volunteer within the YMCA organization. He is a licensed Commercial and Personal Property / Casualty, Group and Individual Life & Health insurance broker.
